Rich orchestrations of electric guitars, synths and sampled base percussions, embarks the listener on a journey of no return. With this EP I try to capture how it feels to be alive in today’s world. Fears, fantasies, our imagination, and an increasingly faster everyday life propelled by technology have us question the boundaries of reality. We float in an over saturation of images and feelings that give us the sensation that we are all part of a collective dream. The EP was created in my studio located in the basement of an abandoned industrial building on the outskirts of Montreal. Long hours in this studio with no windows available helped contributed to the surreal and dream-like tone of the EP. When listening to this music, one will be able to find similarities to Helios, Boards of Canada, Omar Rodriguez Lopez and Agustin Barrios.

KALMO started as a solo electronic and classical music project by producer and guitarist Bernardo Alvarado Rojas. Today it is an ongoing collaboration with classical clarinetist Lucia Sanches, jazz bassist Richard McLeish and indie rock drummer Alexis Duval. Together they explore the combination of their particular musical styles with an upbeat approach.
